Safeguarding
Care of your child is extremely important to us. Every school in Derbyshire is required to follow a set procedure in cases of suspected child abuse. All Headteachers are expected to refer any concerns to the Social Services Department for further investigation so that children at risk can be identified quickly. When a school refers a concern about a pupil to Social Services Department it is not accusing parents of abuse but simply following Derbyshire Child Protection Procedure by passing on required information.
Speedwell Infant School has a culture of listening to children. Mrs Moore is the School named designated lead professional for Safeguarding.
We are very proud to announce that in July 2015 the school was awarded the ‘Derbyshire STOP Anti-Bullying Award’ by Derbyshire County Council. A copy of the certificate can by viewed here.
